Paraprofessional Job Summary

Hope High School is seeking a self-motivated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our growing organization. In this position, you will provide supplemental instruction for individual students and/or small groups of students in your classroom. In addition, you will be collaborating with teachers to assist with various academic needs. You must be comfortable working with technology and be determined to provide exceptional service.  Other duties and responsibilities can be found below.


Paraprofessional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional reinforcement under the direction of the supervising teacher
  • Devise and implement strategies to augment learning and encourage motivation
  • Assist teachers with the following:
  • Tutoring
  • Grading assignments
  • Creating study guides
  • Contacting students
  • Creating supplementary materials
  • Comply with FERPA confidentiality of student information
  • Participate in professional development events


Paraprofessional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Meet Federal Requirements for Paraprofessionals
  • High School Diploma or GED AND
  • Associate’s Degree or higher OR
  • Completed two years of study from an accredited institution of higher education OR
  • Obtained a passing score on one of the Arizona Department of Education approved assessments below:
  • ETS ParaPro Assessment (Praxis)
  • ACT Workkeys
  • Master Teachers ParaEducator PD Now!
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Be able to assist students in High School Math, English Language Arts, Content Area Reading Comprehension
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace (GSuite / Google Apps)
  • Possess time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Excellent case management and follow-up skills utilizing written and verbal communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student course progress and behavior
  • Classroom management
  • Basic troubleshooting competence
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of Edgenuity, Buzz LMS, Infinite Campus, Scrum/Agile a plus
  • Paraprofessional Experience preferred
  • Schedule
  • 40 hours a week
  • 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Monday - Friday
