What You’ll Do:

As a Director of Continuous Improvement (Director CI) you will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of the Lubrizol Operating System (LOS). You will be a hands-on leader, with the opportunity to shape the strategy, coach all levels of the organization, and orchestrate the implementation of standard work processes, Lean Methodology, and targeted improvement tools across our manufacturing sites. This pivotal role will be instrumental in transforming our Operational Excellence capability and culture throughout the entire Lubrizol Corporation.

We are looking for a results-driven and influential leader with entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional business acumen, and the ability to drive operational transformation through strategic analysis and execution, as well as communicate across all levels of the organization, delivering clear and concise messages tailored to diverse audiences. You will lead a team of implementors to provide comprehensive support to the organization, including:

  • Developing standards for the higher-level elements of the Lubrizol Operating System (LOS).
  • Driving the implementation of the Lubrizol Operating System (LOS) and Standard Work.
  • Leading the assessment, training, implementation, and coaching of LOS elements and standard work through strong leadership, onsite expertise, and experiential support.
  • Leading the development of a Lean Six Sigma community by leveraging third-party training and mentoring.
  • Coaching on Kaizen principles and supporting plant implementation of Kaizen Events.
  • Driving productivity tracking and providing dashboard support for the plants.
  • Managing and working with third-party consultants as needed to create timelines, implement initiatives, and drive deliverables.
  • Leading the organization to profitable risk mitigation across all areas of manufacturing.

Skills That Make A Difference:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Chemical/Refining Operations/Manufacturing, with proven management experience in a plant leadership team role or Director-level position.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence capabilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical focus.
  • High level of business acumen.
  • Petrochemical/Refining Industry experience, with Discreet Manufacturing experience being a possible alternative.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Work Processes, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and other lean tools.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of documented management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing lean methodology.
  • Experience in organizational, cultural, and technical change management.
  • Experience in Training and Training Development.
