InterVision Company is seeking a Principal Amazon Connect Architect , responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing highly complex cloud architectures including hybrid cloud environments, working as part of a mid-sized, geographically distributed Cloud Services team. The Principal Connect Architect manages multiple assignments designing and implementing a broad array of AWS services, works with clients to determine their needs, understands their as-is environment, and recommends target AWS architectures while referencing the underlying rationale for architecture decisions that are based on industry standards (e.g. Well Architected Framework). Lead teams of engineers in the build-out of complex hybrid cloud environments and lead large migrations and bring forward ideas on how to use the latest AWS services to optimize environments and reduce technical debt.

  • 5+ years professional IT Operations or Infrastructure implementation experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.
  • Must have successfully led and completed large Amazon Connect projects in the past utilizing Lex and Lambda.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a pre-sales, customer-facing role.
  • Must possess the following active certification: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate.
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.
  • Extensive experience as Cloud Solutions Architect with AWS IaaS and PaaS (AWS EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Route53, DirectConnect, VPN, CloudFront, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS managed services Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS), Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), and Amazon Simple Workflow Service (Amazon SWF).
  • Knowledge with Web Services, API Gateways and application integration development and design.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices and release management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Meets all team deadlines and responsibilities, listens to others and values opinions, helps team leader meet goals and promotes a team atmosphere.
  • Must have strong organizational skills to handle heavy workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and schedule changes.

  • Design, implement and maintain all AWS infrastructure and services within a managed service environment.
  • Design, deploy and maintain enterprise class security, network and systems management applications within an AWS environment.
  • Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for the AWS managed service environment.
  • Continual re-evaluation of existing stack and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance, availability and security.
  • Implement process and quality improvements through task automation. Institute infrastructure as code, security automation and automation or routine maintenance tasks.
  • Perform data migration from on-premises environments into AWS.
  • Support the business development lifecycle (Business Development, Capture, Solution Architect, Pricing and Proposal Development).
