Your role and responsibilities
The Data Center Account Manager (DCAM) will implement the global solutions strategy to drive increased sales, market share, and customer satisfaction in the assigned sub-segment. The DCAM will collaborate with the Electrification local marketing and sales teams and global marketing and sales organizations across all ABB Businesses and EL Business Lines. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage the account strategy that is focused on share of wallet growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Utilizes a 'solutions' approach to account management, applying this strategy to industries with significant potential to address a wider ABB portfolio from multiple businesses through closer alignment. This role is open to remote applicants across the US, with a preference for candidates located in the Western US. Willingness to travel within the United States (and occasionally overseas) around 50% of the time.
ABB's Data Center Solutions business is a market leader in electrification and automation of critical data center infrastructure. With considerable market expansion potential in the United States, the Data Center Solutions business is looking for experienced technical capital equipment sales professionals in order to develop this market further.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Generating new business, increasing ABB market share and exceeding the target sales figures with profitable growth for the ABB Group Data Center portfolio in the assigned sub-segment.
- Understanding the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g., sustainability/digital/cybersecurity) of the relevant global customer’s business and business environment, translating them into the corresponding impacts and opportunities for ABB.
- Participating in the development of sales strategies for the account through providing current business and long-term plans for the customer.
- Collaborating with Product Managers, holding training seminars and other events to promote ABB Solutions in the assigned sub-segment through internal sales, channel partners, consultants, contractors, OEM, and end-users.
Qualifications For The Role
- 4-year university degree in an engineering discipline. Others considered based on experience.
- 5+ years experience working with relevant consultants and contractors, distributors, industry users at a senior level in the data center, critical power, power quality, or closely related industry.
- Experienced in consultative technical sales with >12-month sales cycle.
- Willing to travel within the United States and some overseas 50% of the time.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $111,300 and $206,700 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
