Job Overview

The Catering Sales Manager works closely with the Catering, F&B and Brand departments, with the responsibility of keeping the catering operations organized and efficient. This includes handling the preparation before an event such as BEO preparation, client relations and internal communication, being present during the event as well as ensuring the administrative components are closed out accurately and timely after the conclusion of the event.

The Catering Sales Manager must possess good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. It is important you have flexibility to adjust your schedule depending on the business needs which might include working early, late and on weekends.

Responsibilities

  1. Achieve and exceed budgeted revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  2. Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service
  3. Cultivate existing accounts into repeat business and revenue streams
  4. Develop new accounts with active prospecting, networking, attending industry events, client entertainment, and sales calls
  5. Assess Industry and competitor trends (pricing, packaging, and services) on a consistent basis and provide feedback to Hotel Leadership
  6. Work closely with Culinary, Banquet Manager, and Restaurant Team to ensure flawless execution of events
  7. Communicate all details of events to all departments in a professional, thorough, and timely manner by using Resumes, Event Orders, and internal correspondence effectively
  8. Ensure that functions meet the customer's expectations by following up regularly on the status of functions including inspecting function rooms, greeting customers, and follow up to see that customer needs are met; makes last-minute changes and additions to meet changing customer needs, coordinating outside vendor activity as necessary, conducting post-function reviews with customers and soliciting re-booking from planners
  9. Facilitate pre-conference meetings with clients and key hotel staff
  10. Attend relevant meetings
  11. Maintain proper documentation of events (agreements, billing, event orders, etc).
  12. Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements

Reports directly to: Director of Sales & Marketing, with dotted line to Director of Banquets
