Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Research Lab Technician at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Under the specific direction of Shared Resources and Support, the Research Lab Technician will work to set up and operate research instruments and apply scientific techniques and maintenance related to the shared resources equipment. Additional duties include user training, supply ordering, invoice payment, and chemical and equipment inventory management. The candidate must balance their time between these tasks, the management of instrument maintenance records, and software for instrument fee-for-service report preparation.

The candidate must be able to shift priorities and commit to completing tasks promptly in emergency cases. The candidate must be familiar with the scientific research environment and have high-quality work, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or related field
  • Previous experience in a research laboratory setting is a plus
