Salary: Min: $75,000 - Max: $85,000
Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. With a 60+ year foundation, our client supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
SCOPE:
The Machinist / Toolmaker has general responsibilities for set up and operation of manual Mill and Lathe machines used in manufacturing and fabrication of aircraft/military components. May also utilize grinding equipment if required. This includes tools and fixtures used by multiple departments throughout the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs multiple setups and operates a variety of machines, under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle trouble shooting and analyzing problems associated with both production and development projects.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work from complex blueprints/drawings as well as verbal instructions.
  • Perform complex shop computations relating to dimensions of work, using trigonometry.
  • Ability to reverse engineer tool or gauge design from an actual part.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Design Departments to develop new concepts.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
  • Complex blueprint knowledge.
  • Minimum 10 years experience.

  • Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to chest level.
  • Occasionally must lift up to 25 pounds over the head.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth of perception and the ability to adjust focus.
