Overview
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's Boston, MA office is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within a broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal land, and aviation.
Responsibilities
- Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
- Traffic impact studies
- Safety studies
- Transportation planning analyses
- Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics
- Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Traffic data collection and tabulation
- Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
- Development, analysis, and evaluation of traffic improvements
- Roadway and intersection conceptual design
Skills and Attributes

Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience
- EIT preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD a plus
- Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plus
- Experience with ArcGIS a plus
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Hiring Salary Range: $75,000 - 81,000. However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
