We are focused on taking our firms to a new level of success in the Annuities market by adding a Business Development position to assist them in identifying and closing new opportunities.

This expertise, along with excellent communication and presentation skills, will be used to drive sales by assisting our affiliates (owned-firms) and other distribution partners to identify opportunities within their existing relationships and prospect new producer relationships to drive growth and expansion of our annuity market.

The Annuity Director is responsible for recruiting, training, and onboarding new licensed producers and providing proactive marketing support to existing relationships. In this role, you will position product, company benefits, and value proposition through phone calls and face-to-face meetings.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with affiliates to identify opportunities within their existing relationships for all types of annuities: Fixed, Index, SPIA, RILA, and advisory products.
  • Provide subject matter expertise as it relates to our comprehensive annuity product portfolio.
  • Identify and build relationships with prospects through face-to-face meetings, industry events, phone calls, webinars, and other forms of communication to attract new producers to ICON.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of life insurance products as it pertains to resources, products, and strategies to support Annuities sales.
  • Maintain highly responsive and proactive relationships.
  • Facilitate and contribute to projects related to advancing the Annuities market for ICON affiliates.
  • Onboard new producers by promoting company products, services, and benefits.
  • Create and provide business plans/goals and train new agents/producers.
  • Facilitate recruiting campaigns to prospective agents to help the company achieve recruiting and production goals.
  • Partner with affiliates to achieve the best recruiting and sales goals.
  • Attend and facilitate agent training, and promote company and products at various industry conferences as necessary.
  • Demonstrate the strong ability to articulate the Company's strategy by presenting a compelling story about company strength, culture, values, products, and services.
  • Work with carriers and other alliances to leverage existing product experts and resources to assist ICON affiliates where applicable.
  • Provide overall expertise and support to affiliates as it relates to annuities including giving presentations, educating producers, developing and implementing training programs, and recruiting quality agents to the company.
  • Collaborate with affiliates to create outbound phone campaigns and other programs to promote annuity sales growth.
  • In conjunction with management, create, implement, and follow-through on sales and marketing campaigns which include ensuring activity requirements and service standards are met at all times.
  • Gather and maintain competitor information and help management gain and maintain a competitive advantage; act as a steward for affiliates and other distribution partners to keep them involved with field climate, trends, and other important strategic information.
  • Support expense management by completing accurate travel expense reports on time, thoughtfully managing expenses, and identifying and implementing personal expense efficiencies.

Requirements

Required Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships - Internally and Externally.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both in creation and delivery, to prospective producers/distribution partners.
  • Demonstrate exceptional working knowledge of annuity products and company benefits and strengths.
  • Proven ability to grow a product distribution vertical as measured by sales, producer growth, producer loyalty, and overall profitability.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales and marketing principles and practices.
  • A strong, but well-balanced work ethic. Mentality to get the job done while maintaining a work/life balance.
  • Well-developed organization skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple issues and demands.
  • Broad knowledge of life insurance carriers and products offering Annuities solutions.
  • Experience with how life insurance products can be designed and utilized to meet the needs of clients in the business and executive benefit markets.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-moving company environment.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience working in a sales/wholesaling role within the financial services, insurance industry, or other related industry. State life insurance licenses preferred.

Education: Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
