Animal Health Veterinarian (Part-Time)

Location: Ridgefield, CT

Duration: 11/18/2024 – 11/13/2026

Our client is seeking a Veterinarian to provide medical and surgical care to laboratory animals, supporting research and development teams. This role includes both weekday and weekend responsibilities, offering part-time, flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide veterinary care to laboratory animals, including clinical medicine and surgery.
• Support IACUC protocol development, animal user training, and colony preventive medicine.
• Respond to "on-call" duties during weekends for veterinary advice or direct animal care.
• Implement and maintain AAALAC and GLP standards.
• Collaborate with research teams and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD), ACLAM certification required.
• Licensed in a U.S. state; ability to become licensed in CT.
• Experience in animal research and a pharmaceutical setting is a plus.
• Proficiency in animal handling, preventive medicine, and research protocols.

Schedule:

Part-time (12-15 hours per week), with some weekend duties.
