Network Engineer
Direct Hire Full-Time Role
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
Location: Remote PST
Job Summary:
As a Network Engineer, you will provide technical delivery consulting in the Infrastructure and Application Delivery lifecycles from detail design, integration, maintenance, and upgrades of hardware, network software, and standards across the enterprise as they relate to the company network. You will define and follow discreet procedures and protocols to ensure network integrity and compliance and monitor network utilization, user functions, and performance metrics as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, develop, and implement network engineering designs and standards following industry best practices.
- Ensure that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
- Work with other IT organizations to design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade network solutions supporting development, testing, and production environments.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other IT and Business groups.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 7 years of network engineering experience
- Senior-level certification or equivalent with demonstrated relevant experience
- Basic Linux knowledge
- SDWAN design and implementation
- In-depth knowledge of routing and switching technologies and protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VTP, VLAN, MPLS, QoS, GRE, STP, IP SEC, VDC, VPC, etc.)
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco routering and switching platforms
- Hands-on experience engineering and deploying cloud-based voice solutions
- Firewall technologies
- SSL VPN
- Local and Global Services Load-Balancer
- IDS/IPS
- Operational knowledge of Cisco Unified Communication Manager
- WAN Optimizer (Design and Implementation)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good communication skills are essential; must be able to give and receive correct information, explain complex information to non-technical users, and maintain a customer service attitude to all levels of users.
- Able to work independently and creatively problem-solve complex technical problems.
- Able to provide leadership, guidance, and training to others
- Able to provide accurate estimates of time frames and cost estimates necessary to complete potential projects and develop milestones and project implementation plans.
