We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Dallas office.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and adjudicate complex claims, including those in litigation, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations to confirm coverage and assess liability, utilizing strong analytical skills to inform decisions.
  • Prepare detailed file summaries for internal reporting, large loss assessments, and reinsurance purposes, ensuring all pertinent information is accurately documented.
  • Handle stressful calls with professionalism, delivering clear and factual information to facilitate informed decisions on claims.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing overall team performance.
  • Effectively manage a busy day-to-day schedule, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining quality in claims processing.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s safety policy and procedures through regular review meetings with staff and monitoring the company’s CVOR safety rating and driver vehicle inspections on a monthly basis.
  • Process IRP applications and create truck binders for owner operators, ensuring all truck authority documents are updated.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of tractor and trailer maintenance files, including preventive maintenance bills for owner operators and company units.
  • Ensure all accident claims are registered with updated documents, adjusting physical damage claims, including unreported damage claims.
  • Discuss accidents, damage, preventability, and processes with commercial vehicle operators. Maintain files for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Evaluate the company’s safety rating by regularly updating and monitoring the Risk Factor spreadsheet.
  • Review and persistently follow up on traffic tickets, convictions, and accidents.
  • Review CVOR, apply for and renew permits, and process IRP applications.
  • Select, direct, and manage vendor relationships, including towing companies, body shops, and garage and parking/storage yards to obtain accurate costs as needed for settlement of claims.
  • Order police reports, set up new claim files, and confirm loss to insurer & broker.
  • Be available on-call for nights and weekends for serious accidents and other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in an Insurance program or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of liability claim handling experience in different states.
  • Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.
  • Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Counsel.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate work among a group.
  • Able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work on some weekends.
