Job Description

We seek an experienced Maître D’ with a kind and calm disposition to serve as our guests’ first point of contact. As the leader of a high-end restaurant, you will ensure excellent customer service among our upscale clientele (focused on fashion, art, business, and entertainment) and ensure contact with customers is friendly, warm, professional, and helpful.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of reservations booking strategies and a working knowledge of all functions of OpenTable
  • Display meticulous administration, ensuring that every detail of a guest's reservation has been accurately recorded following established procedures.
  • Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests, whether in person or over the phone
  • Quote accurate wait times while “finding the yes” for all guests
  • Exhibit an excellent service attitude and be willing to go above and beyond to accommodate our guests
  • Maintain seating to ensure maximum covers are reached without compromising service
  • Communicate anticipated business demands daily to the appropriate teams
  • Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure ideal bookings and availability
  • Communicate with Bussers, Servers, and Managers throughout service; updating on turn times, late reservations, out-times, guest notes, etc.
  • Be flexible and able to adjust to the changing needs of the restaurants and guests.
  • Adhere to the highest level of confidentiality regarding customer lists, customer information, business plans, financials, etc. at all times

Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Maintain a high standard in appearance that represents the elegance of Ysabel (e.g., cocktail attire); that includes clean hair, nails, and no heavy colognes or perfume
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with strong attention to detail
  • Sincere interest in a people-focused operation, hospitality, and industry trends
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and work calmly and efficiently during busy times
  • Be considerate and willing to help fellow teammates
  • Handle all guest situations promptly with care and critical thinking, particularly when faced with the odd guest complaint.
  • Maintain high team focus by displaying strong leadership, cooperation, and support to colleagues in pursuing department goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour (DOE) + generous tips
