Oracle Labs is searching for an outstanding Machine Learning and AI researcher with a focus on security and privacy to join our research team. The goal of this project is to research, develop and transfer privacy preserving ML techniques that enable building ML models while ensuring the privacy and security of data and data subjects involved. You will be part of an amazing collaborative research team that publishes at the top venues in machine learning and AI.

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Research, design and implement novel privacy and security solutions applicable to large language models
  • Publish original research
  • Open source high quality code and reproducible research
  • Collaborate with other team members and teams
  • Transfer technology to product groups
  • Collaborate with external researchers

What We Need To See:

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong background of theory and practice of large language models as well as machine learning and deep learning
  • Strong understanding of privacy preserving machine learning technologies, and security issues in generative AI systems, as well as mitigation approaches such as Differential Privacy
  • Excellent programming and debug skills in Python, plus hands on experience with common machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch
  • Experience in analyzing and collecting data from various sources, and thorough understanding of experimental practices, error analysis, and evaluation approaches
  • Outstanding research track record
  • Experience collaborating in a team environment on research projects
  • Excellent communication skills
