GPD is looking for a Federal Market Sector Lead

We are excited to hire an innovative and driven personality that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit GPD is founded on. As a trusted and experienced Federal industry leader, this person will share a passion for leading efforts with our new and existing Federal clients while working with our multidisciplinary team of professional engineers and architects.

Due to our organic growth and stellar reputation in the industry, GPD is excited to add this role to our Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA or Houston, TX offices.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in Federal projects.
  • Extensive experience managing clients and project work in the Federal market.
  • Highly knowledgeable in contracts for GSA, VA, DOD, NAVFAC, USACE, and others.
  • Proficient understanding of Architectural & Engineering, Structural Engineering, Site Development, Site Acquisition, Zoning, Permitting, Project Management, Geotechnical, Survey and Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to pre-position GPD for upcoming opportunities.
  • Track record of success generating new leads and develop those leads into long term clients.
  • Passion to drive local brand and position GPD as an industry leader.
  • Must possess experience in coordinating with internal teams to successfully position GPD to win federal project work.
  • Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
  • Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
  • Enjoys developing and nurturing strong client and sub consultant relationships.
  • Experience developing and overseeing project scope, schedule, and fees for new projects and additional scope/services requested by clients that yield successful projects for clients and the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position interacts with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline in the development of Federal projects: this includes complete A & E design, survey, construction, public/government agencies, and field services.
  • Develop and build client partnerships and programs to continue team growth: this includes understanding clients’ needs and with a consultative mindset, developing and executing successful client programs. This person will not only meet sales and revenue goals, but actively seek out opportunities to exceed expectations.
  • Lead and develop the strategic plan and execute strategic actions aligned with both the Federal Practice and GPD Group goals: this includes mentoring team members and program management to ensure internal and external success.
  • Technical oversight: managing documentation process; ensures projects follow Federal Agency guidelines and contract compliance.
  • Administrative oversight: Ensuring that project team and scope align with successful partnerships with clients. Other duties include presentation development, supporting tasks and scope of work development and fees.
