Junior Software Engineer - Panama Shift!

Leidos is hiring a Junior Engineer with an active Polygraph in the Ft. Meade area, MD. Candidate must be willing to perform Panama shift work. This team works 12hr shifts, they rotate every 8 weeks, and have every other weekend off.

Program Summary
Leidos is a preferred subcontractor on a large, multi-year contract that develops, integrates, deploys, and sustains large collection systems. Significant requirements include Mission Management, Operations, and Sustainment activities. The team will provide 24x7x365 support to multiple Operations Teams and will feature 1st/2nd/3rd Party Partner Engagement.

Job Summary

• Design and implement HW and SW solutions including documentation, testing & modification, schematics, mechanical drawings, cable assemblies, and parts lists.
• Test and evaluate hardware and software designs to ensure proper operation.
• Candidates must understand the significance of their role within a 24x7 mission essential TTO and be able to support varying schedules at times to ensure mission coverage. This is a Panama shift opportunity! This team works 12hr shifts, they rotate every 8 weeks, and have every other weekend off.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of Hardware/Software Engineering experience
• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical field

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting a range of analytical products and functions to allow for the development of signal exploitation capabilities.
• Experience analyzing requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Experience with hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
• Knowledge of the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
