**Job Title:** Dual Modality CT/DX Technician
**Job Specialty:** Emergency Department
**Job Duration:** 18 weeks
**Shift:** Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, 7 PM - 7 AM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week
**Experience:** Experience in both CT and Diagnostic Radiology required; must have Emergency Department experience
**License:** Valid ARRT (CT) license required
**Certifications:** BLS (AHA or ARC) required
**Must-Have:** Dual modality experience in DX/CT and a strong understanding of imaging needs
**Job Description:**
- Perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment with proficiency, including patient monitoring equipment.
- Examine and verify patient requests and orders, referring any questions to the Radiologist.
- Ensure proper patient identification and provide brief explanations of procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures with full explanations and document on appropriate worksheets.
- Interview patients for complete medical history and correlate test results with the exam.
- Assume responsibility for the exam until completion of results.
- Prepare and administer IV contrast based on departmental protocols and record contrast type and amount.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist as needed.
- Recognize abnormal anatomy and create additional images or measurements when instructed.
- Inform nursing staff of any changes in patient's condition and initiate life support measures if necessary.
- Assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.
- Practice sterile technique during invasive procedures and adhere to infection control policies.
- Obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Operate the radiology computer system for orders and procedure documentation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist other medical staff when required.
- Support imaging needs with a thorough understanding of CT and diagnostic radiology processes.
