JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven production environment
  • Regular attendance per work schedule and able to at times of high volume work overtime including Saturday work
  • Lifting parts from 5 to 50 lbs. from carts and various size storage containers.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean work station and assist dept. in cleaning functions
  • Must be able to read blue prints, interpret work order requirements, and drawings specifications
  • Previous Forklift Experience and pallet jack use or willingness to receive training
  • Compliance of all shop safety rules and company policies
  • Participate in the rotation schedule as delegated by manager or lead
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Assist in all stages of Damper Assembly
  • Proper use of precise measuring equipment
  • Produce quality dampers per design specifications and work instructions
Honing Department
  • Check Auto Filling schedule and follow schedule assigned by management
  • Review paperwork prior to starting order
  • Hone and clean tubes per work instruction
  • Stage honed and cleaned tubes for Auto filling in Filling room
  • Perform necessary daily cleanup procedures; recycle solvent; place oily rags in fire safe container, mop floor in work area if necessary.
Piston Assembly Department
  • Process Piston assembly work orders per Damper assembly schedule and part availability.
  • Assemble part # specific design and drawing per work instruction.
  • Check all components for dimensions making sure that they meet quality standards prior to assembly.
  • Torque all piston assemblies per design spec.
  • Assist in maintain inventory accuracy of assemblies and piston assembly components.
  • Prepare necessary documents and workbooks as necessary.
  • Scan and file all completed work orders weekly
  • Perform necessary daily cleanup procedures; Clean-up area when complete mop piston assembly area if necessary
Filling Department
  • Assist Damper Technician by preparing parts for filling
  • Prepare tubes by oiling
  • Grease gas pistons
  • Pre-roll ware bands
  • Dyno test dampers after filling
  • Perform necessary daily cleanup procedures; Clean-up area when complete mop filling area if necessary
Final Assembly
  • Clean Dampers and check for oil leaks after Dyno Testing
  • Installation of necessary components using basic hand tools as instructed by lead
  • Installation of bushings, sleeves, and bearings using pneumatic and hydraulic presses.
  • Torque rod-ends per work instruction using Pneumatic or click type torque wrench when instructed to do so
  • Apply Decals using automatic machine or manually when required to do so.
  • Stamp dampers with part # and date code with automatic machine or by hand when required to do so
  • Installation of Dust boots as required per design
  • Bag all dampers and insert oil warning note as required
  • Bulk package and or individually box dampers as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sitting, Standing, and bending movements: Frequent standing with breaks according to work schedule, frequent bending movements
  • Repetitive work with both hands on parts and computer usage
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at certain times
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and maneuver product around to staging areas.
