Board Certified Family Practice MD *$30k Sign On Bonus*

Wage Range that the Company Expects to Pay: $300,000 annually (base salary + incentives, productivity, and APP supervision).

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician provides primary healthcare services for Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. (CHC), and performs related work as required. CHC aims to provide the highest quality of total care possible to the patient population it serves, relying on staff collaboration and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Secures and evaluates a patient's health history and records findings accurately.
  2. Performs physical assessments and distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings.
  3. Provides routine physical examinations, diagnostic services, and treatment of illnesses and emergencies.
  4. Adheres to the highest standards of medical ethics and assures quality of care for all patients.
  5. Shares on-call duties with other medical staff when indicated.
  6. Elicits and records information about patients' medical history.
  7. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images.
  8. Analyzes reports and findings, and diagnoses conditions.
  9. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs.
  10. Inoculates and vaccinates patients against communicable diseases.
  11. Advises patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods.
  12. Reports births, deaths, and outbreaks of contagious diseases to authorities.
  13. Refers patients to specialists for specialized treatment.
  14. Conducts physical examinations for school admissions, job considerations, or insurance eligibility.
  15. Assists the Chief Medical Officer in establishing and evaluating medical policies.
  16. Shares supervisory responsibilities of the nurse practitioner with the Clinical Director.
  17. Participates in committees as requested by the Chief Medical Officer.
  18. Adheres to safety policies and infection control regulations.
  19. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
  20. Maintains and adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  21. Participates in patient population management considering cultural diversity.
  22. Provides follow-up care coordination post-hospital discharge.
  23. Understands the role in self-management support for high-risk clients.
  24. Coordinates with the Care Team to ensure appropriate services for patients.
  25. Participates in quality improvement processes, including data collection and charge auditing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise mid-level providers at the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Medical Doctor Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school. Completion of a residency training program in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, or Pediatrics is required. Board Certification or board eligibility is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is desirable.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current unrestricted and valid License - Physician and Surgeon or equivalent from Medical Board of California. Board Certified/Eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN or Pediatrics is required. Possession of current unrestricted and valid DEA license, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications are required.
