The Chief Analytics & Data Officer is a highly versatile executive leader that will lead all analytics and intelligence for the media and analytics arm of the agency. The CAO has extensive and deep knowledge of the marketing analytics landscape. They will be responsible for not only building and cultivating a broad analytics and data team, but have the ability to consult with senior clients and act as a key play in business development.

This leader will need to develop the philosophy and architecture needed to service the analytics needs for not only the media team, but the full-service agency at large. The CAO will be expected to not only be a strong leader and mentor, but to act as a hands-on player, helping create and deliver analytics strategies. The CAO has knowledge of the full funnel - from how to leverage multiple different measurement strategies in the upper funnel, to understanding the mechanics of performance media in the lower funnel.

This leader must have broad and versatile experience that includes not only the ability to act as the analytics media and data lead, but the experience and ability to work across creative and CRM as well. The CAO must be able to guide clients across data strategy, attribution, martech stack development, media mix modeling, predictive modeling, AI and machine learning, DCO and creative testing, cookie depreciation, identity solutions, planning tools, programmatic media, data management and visualization, and overall workflow processes. In addition to that, this leader must be able to build a successful team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop a team, integrated toolset and holistic, scalable workflows to:
    1. Clarify and quantify client brand and business goals
    2. Consult with clients and internal teams on cross-channel strategies to achieve brand and business goals
    3. Build and employ models to predict brand and business results
    4. Design and implement client-bespoke cross-channel measurement frameworks, inclusive of:
      1. Learning agenda, with incrementality testing strategy and implementation
      2. Recommending data sources and partners across client, agency and third parties
      3. Developing 1-3PD audience approaches, from sizing to projected business impact; consulting with activation teams to ensure consistency
      4. Attributing and quantifying campaign-driven incremental impact on client brand and business results
      5. Collaboration with ad tech teams for seamless measurement partner/platform implementation
      6. Develop and maintain cross-channel campaign performance reporting infrastructure, including data collection, storage, sharing/visualization and insights/analysis; work closely with the IT / Information leadership to ensure data security and privacy
      7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and present compelling new business pitch content
  2. Develop and manage a client-friendly AI strategy for the agency, including applications such as:
    1. Generative AI for client (dynamic copy, etc) and internal/operational (semi-automated RFP completions, etc)
    2. Machine Learning for faster, more effective modeling (feature selection, Monte Carlo simulations, etc)
    3. Innovative/emerging (simulated audiences, etc)
  3. Work closely with agency C-suite to manage agency growth, profitability and morale

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 20+ years of creative and media agency experience, preferably with significant full-service agency experience across both upper funnel/demand creation and lower funnel/demand capture
  2. 15+ years effectively managing teams; strong team-building and mentorship skills
  3. 8+ years experience as part of an agency executive management team
  4. Extensive hands-on martech experience across buy platforms (SEM, programmatic, CRM, etc) and measurement platforms/services/techniques (cross-channel attribution, media mix modeling, brand lift studies, etc)
  5. Significant experience managing technical (Data Science, etc) teams, and presenting technical deliverables to non-technical audiences
  6. Successful track record of building, presenting and winning new business pitches
