Location: Farmingdale, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Fri Oct 4 2024 Job Description:The Facilities Operations department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Management Systems (BMS) Controls and Retro Commissioning Manager to join our team. The BMS Controls and Retro Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of Building Management Systems and leading the retro commissioning efforts for the campus. They will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are operating efficiently, optimizing mechanical asset usage, and meeting various Federal and State standards.This role will work closely with team members to design and execute BMS projects and develop strategies to improve system efficiency. The position will also be responsible for coordinating retro commissioning efforts, including conducting audits, identifying system deficiencies, overseeing the implementation of corrective actions and instituting a preventative maintenance program. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of BMS operations, retro commissioning best practices, preventative maintenance programming and building performance optimization.Responsibilities:Oversee the implementation and maintenance of BMS across campus facilities.Develop and execute retro commissioning plans for a wide range of building systems.Conduct audits to identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities.Perform detailed analysis of BMS data to monitor system performance and identify anomalies.Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.Train facility managers and technicians on BMS operations and best practices.Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required equipment and materials.The college particularly welcomes candidates with knowledge, skills and abilities that include:Commitment to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion.Interest in participating in student-centered service activities.Desire to apply expertise in promoting civic engagement with the College's many community partners.Job Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; In lieu of degree, at least ten (10) years of proven experience in BMS controls and retro commissioning.Five (5) years of proven experience in BMS controls and retro commissioning.Strong knowledge of building performance optimization.Proficiency in BMS software and programming languages.Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and leadership abilities.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Project management experience.Additional Information:This is a full-time UUP position.For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, October 4, 2024, and ending Thursday, October 17, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Saturday, November 2, 2024.SALARY: $80,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $83,400 Total Compensation.
