We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Senior Associate to join the team in our Hartford, CT office.
CohnReznick is a hybrid firm meaning most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to alternate time between both remote and office.
YOUR TEAM:
This position will support our PCS Group with a focus on tax and accounting services for privately held companies across a variety of different industries. We work with clients to help them achieve their goals around complex tax and financial matters tied to their business and individual needs. You will work on a team with other Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
YOUR ROLE:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts
- Take responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables
- Experience with reviewing and preparing the following types of tax returns: business tax returns including 1120, 1120S, 1065, trust return 1041, and personal return 1040 including Schedules C & E
- Must be able to perform various financial analysis including but not limited to balance sheets and income statements
- Experience in managing the process of financial statement preparation of compilations and reviews is a plus
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual year-end tax projections
- Willing to work on various ad hoc projects as needed during the year
- Actively participate in proposals
- Manage a team of staff associates, including interns, while providing regular performance coaching and feedback
- Gain the respect and confidence of the CR team through effective client management, timely and accurate communication, and clear and concise direction and leadership
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred
- CPA, JD or EA preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years tax and accounting experience in a public accounting firm
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong tax research and writing skills
- Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Competence with tax compliance and research software to include Go Systems, BNA portfolio and projection, CCH, RIA
- Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
