City of Orlinda: Part-Time City Manager Position
The City of Orlinda is seeking an experienced municipal government professional to serve as its part-time City Manager. The City Manager is the chief administrative officer responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the city, supervising 8 employees, managing 6 rental properties, implementing policies set forth by City Council, and ensuring that municipal services are delivered efficiently with detailed financial oversight of the city’s nearly 1 million dollar annual budget.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.A. degree in a relevant field
- 5 years of government leadership experience
- Knowledge of governmental accounting/budgeting
This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and public administration expertise, including:
- Advanced knowledge of planning and zoning laws and processes
- Grant writing and administration
- Human resources and codes enforcement
- Economic development and recruitment
- Thorough knowledge of the government bid process
The City Manager will work closely with city staff, various Orlinda boards, other government agencies, and elected officials while managing the city’s financial health.
This is a part-time, salaried position with a flexible schedule requiring a minimum of 25 hours per week. Salary is $35k to $45k DOQ based on a minimum of 25 hours/week. In addition, there is a $7,500 per year insurance stipend paid to the employee as a contribution to a privately obtained health insurance policy, thereby raising total compensation to $37,500-$52,500 with insurance stipend.
