Job Description
We are hiring a Cross Domain Senior Systems Engineer who will provide support to the Army Cross Domain Management Office. This includes the preparation of cross-domain solutions briefings to Army senior leadership to include information papers and status reports as required for cross-domain solutions management activities and meetings. This role is critical in securing our nation's Army as Cross Domain Solution's (CDS') are integral to mission success across the Army and DoD alike.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Senior Systems Engineer reviews U.S. federal policy and procedures, to include National Cross Domain Strategy & and Management Office (NCDSMO) documentation, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework guidelines, DoD Policy, and Army Policy Joint Staff, and DoD, for the use of cross domain solutions and the compliance standards in the support of facilitating proper procedure within the CDS process.

  • And The CDS Senior Systems Engineer provides analyses of compliance within policy and procedure to support current and future requirements for products in the Army's information technology architecture, and systems that are part of the Army portfolio.

  • The CDS Senior Systems Engineer provides expertise and recommendations to improve the process for actions related to cross-domain solutions in accordance with published policy and procedures and track the status of those actions.

  • The CDS Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing the resolution of issues at the guidance of the Government Team Lead as it relates to addressing cross-domain issues and executing actions.

  • The CDS Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for reporting and briefing CDS status to Army Headquarters G-6 leadership and various CDS approval and advisory boards. This includes the Cross Domain Technical Advisory Board (CDTAB), Defense Security/Cybersecurity Authorization Working Group (DSAWG), and the Information Security Risk Management Committee (ISRMC).

  • The CDS Senior System Engineer represents and communicates the Army's position on current and new solutions. This includes writing executive summaries, technical summaries, implementation guidance, and representing Army in virtual and in-person meetings.

  • Responsible for reviewing up to 70 proposed cross domain solutions per year (weekly).

  • Attend monthly meetings to represent Army position on solutions. Write executive summaries and information papers, as required, after attendance at meetings (monthly) and answer email and telephonic queries on cross domain solutions that are being used in the Army (frequency: 4 -10 calls, 5-10 emails daily).


Qualifications:
  • Applicant must possess an active Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligible eligibility.
  • CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, CISSP or Security+
  • 8 + years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Understanding of large, complex C4I System of Systems

  • Understanding of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
  • Analytical, decision-making, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to executive-level stakeholders in terms of both strong written and verbal communications.
  • Experience with System Engineering practices in performing system design, integration, verification, validation, and delivery, including multi-security domain network solutions.


Desired:
  • Experience working on HQDA Headquarters Department of the Army G-6 staff
  • Prior Military experience
  • Experience with working the DOD DoD Assessment and Authorization process for Systems and/or CDSs
  • Experience with the Secret and Below Interoperability (SABI) process'
  • Experience with DoD 8450 policy - Especially the CDS Process
  • Experience with AR 25-2 policy
  • Experience with NIST RMF Process' and controls


Education: B.S. degree
Years Experience: 8 + years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
