GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to assist prospective and current students, staff and parents with questions regarding all aspects of the enrollment process. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting students with the admissions process, financial aid, student accounts, and student records. These actions are performed in-person, by phone, email, text, chat, and zoom.This position reports to the Coordinator of Recruitment and Highlander Central and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Knowledge of: 1. Proper English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation; 2. General understanding of the admissions, records, financial aid, and student accounts processes and the relationship between each process; 3. Modern office procedures, methods, computer equipment, windows operating systems, and various browser applications; Skills in: 4. Excellent customer service; 5. Multi-tasking, critical thinking, assertiveness, problem solving, good communication, and attentiveness; 6. Clear and effective communication, both orally and in writing; 7. Learn and maintain new information, as well as new software and other office equipment in an efficient manner; 8. Understand the purpose of each department to be able to guide the student; 9. Discern specific questions presented in a vague manner by guests; Ability to: 10. Properly understand a student's specific situation, and provide clear concise instructions on the enrollment process and how to resolve a student's issues, while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude; 11. Understand federal, state, local, and college policies, procedures, and rules and regulations and stay up to date with their changes and apply them; 12. Operate a multi-line phone system and switchboard; 13. Politely interact with various personalities in any situation; 14. Follow instructions given by superiors; 15. Perform tasks efficiently to meet necessary deadlines;
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. (A minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree)
Experience: More than one year of work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Work experience in a customer service environment
