Job Title: Healthcare Regulatory Attorney

Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm in Columbia, MD, is seeking a seasoned Healthcare Regulatory Attorney with a strong background in healthcare law to join its legal team. This position involves providing legal guidance on regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, and advising a variety of healthcare providers, specialty practices, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in healthcare regulatory matters and a proven ability to navigate complex legal landscapes.

Duties:

  1. Offer legal advice on healthcare regulatory issues to providers, specialty practices, and vendors.
  2. Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  3. Advise on compliance matters, including risk management and regulatory changes.
  4. Conduct audits, handle investigations, and provide counsel on healthcare transactions.
  5. Collaborate with attorneys across different disciplines to support comprehensive client needs.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory law.
  2. Expertise in federal and state healthcare laws such as HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  3. Proven experience advising healthcare providers and specialty practices on compliance and regulatory matters.
  4. Familiarity with relevant regulatory bodies, including HHS, CMS, and state healthcare agencies.

Education:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Active Bar admission in Maryland or eligibility to be admitted.

Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations.
  2. Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction.
