Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Analyst - Impact Investing for our client, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes people, capital, and networks to spark meaningful change. Combining responsible investments with real social impact, our client works with local partners to advance racial equity and open opportunities for all.
The Analyst - Impact Investing is responsible for managing the due diligence and underwriting process for the organization's impact investing practice, which is a multi-million-dollar pool of catalytic capital presented as an investment option for fundholders and the organization's unrestricted assets to create positive financial returns. Their assets are comprised of a mixture of investment types including debt guarantees, lines of credit, direct and intermediary loans, and equity investments.

As part of the finance, investment, and operations department, this position reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. This administrative, full time, hybrid opportunity is in Louisville, Kentucky!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and manage the underwriting and due diligence process for all new potential investments, collaborating with underwriting consultant.
  • Prepare a summary memorandum with supporting documentation for each potential investment, outlining financial risk considerations, social impact assessment, investment terms, and other pertinent details. These memorandums will be informed by the direct interactions with potential investees such as interviews, document reviews, consultants, etc.
  • Assist the organization's Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in the drafting and legal review of all necessary investment agreements.
  • Support the Community Leadership team in the initial evaluation of potential investments and preparation of reports used by Management and ruling committees.
  • Collaborate with staff and committees to establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience in impact investing, commercial banking, financial services, commercial real estate investment, urban planning, economic development, or community development.
  • Analytic strengths in identifying, gathering, evaluating, interpreting, and synthesizing financial information.
  • Ability to be highly confidential, discreet, tactful, and operate with integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, especially with diverse constituents.
  • Document and maintain organized records of information gathered from investees, consultants, and legal counsel.
  • Proven track record of managing complex tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Network and partner internally and externally for effective comprehensive solutions.
  • Adaptable to organizational growth and change.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This role offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, in the range of $100,000 to $120,000, and is eligible for the organization's Employee Health and Benefits Plan, which includes h ealth and vision insurance, dental insurance, dependent coverage, disability insurance, group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, tax deferred annuity plans, defined contribution pension plans, charitable checking fund with $200 provided in initial funding, 20 days of PTO, and work life integration (WLI) allowing for half-day Fridays every-other week.
