The Director of Guide the Gift is a dynamic organizational partner who takes initiative and is driven to ensure that Iowa Donor Network has a strong logistics system. This work is essential to executing the mission critical service delivery of vital elements in the donation process. This leader will thrive managing multiple priorities and setting an innovative vision for effective, safe transportation as well as clear and accurate communication between internal and external partners. The position requires a motivating and inspiring leader with the ability to build and strengthen essential relationships.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare regulatory environment desirable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience required.
  • Experience with logistics or supply chain management preferred.

Schedule:

Monday- Friday
8am-5pm CST
*leader on call rotation required

Compensation:

Salary: Starting at $113,100
*Iowa Donor Network determines final compensation based on education, experience, and skills relevant to the position.

Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the efficient running of the organization’s logistical operations.
  • Integrates transportation and logistics services to ensure on-time delivery of the life-saving gifts of donation.
  • Versatile communicator with the ability to serve as a translator by building bridges with colleagues between multiple work systems that rely on IDNs logistic services.
  • Align and implement strategies to ensure the seamless dissemination of critical information to internal and external partners to successfully complete mission critical work.
  • Determines organizational philosophy for selection of most appropriate transportation modality.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with outside carriers.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics related data to identify and recommend ways to reduce transportation costs, ensure staff safety, efficiency of delivery and accomplishment of work system objectives and goals.
  • Supervise the selection, training, development, and performance of the Guide the Gift staff to retain a motivated professional workforce for IDN. Establish and communicate job responsibilities, manage performance expectations and outcomes to maintain optimal operational performance utilizing established leadership principles.
  • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the Guide the Gift logistics work system.
  • As a member of the Senior Leader team, collaborate on the development and implementation of the organizational strategic plan, including work system action plans that support achievement of organizational goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and delegate responsibilities to team members.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st.)
  • Lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with detailed work.
  • Maintain availability for communication 24/7/365.
