Overview: The Church Engagement Manager works to deepen engagement with our church partners and ensures South America Mission has the resources to be effective in ministry and obedient on mission. They work with senior leadership to ensure integrity in soliciting gifts and stewardship of donations received.

Individual Profile: The candidate must have a vibrant love for the Lord that leads to genuine care and support for SAM’s missionaries and supporters. The position requires a heart for engaging the local church in global missions, an established background in coordinating nonprofit donation strategies, and excellent communication skills. Experience with CRM software, donor database, and other fundraising technology is desirable.

Position Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Lead development of, response to, and intentional care for South America Mission’s church partners.
  • Support SAM’s church partners in developing a biblical missiology for global mission and engaging opportunities for the mobilization of global workers from within the local church.
  • Identify and steward prospective church partners.
  • Provide support for missionaries on HMA in order to maximize church engagement.
  • Assist with training personnel in the biblical basis for support raising and equip missionaries for deputized support raising and for ethical ministry resourcing.
  • Design funding initiatives that resource strategic projects, missionary, and organizational support.
  • Support relational church engagement by managing South America Mission’s short-term teams program, including identifying field hosting opportunities, vision trips, developing church team relationships before, during, and after short-term trips, and overseeing logistical support for all South America Mission short-term teams.
  • Initiate and manage systems that facilitate efficient and increased giving and access to information to empower overall fundraising efforts.
  • Assist Chief Advancement Officer with implementation of major giving and planned giving fundraising strategies.
  • Assist Chief Advancement Officer with planning and evaluation of fundraising campaigns and activities.
  • Provide timely and usable data and information to leadership, staff, and missionaries that empowers their fundraising efforts and enables good stewardship.
  • Develop and deploy effective strategies and initiatives to raise funds for South America Mission in a manner consistent with Scripture, our vision, and our values.
  • Exhibit and promote an ethos of authentic and professional donor care that communicates gratitude, impact, and builds trust with South America Mission missionaries.
  • Cultivate and curate a culture of generosity and Kingdom opportunity among our personnel and supporters.
  • National and International travel required.
