BREASTFEEDING ADVOCATEJob DetailsJob LocationWIC Sites 1 - New York, NYPosition TypePart TimeEducation LevelHigh SchoolSalary Range$21.77 - $21.77 HourlyJob CategoryHealth CareDescriptionSummary:Under the supervision of the WIC Coordinator and the Breastfeeding Coordinator, the Breastfeeding Advocate performs a variety of professional duties for participants of the Federal Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) under the supervision of the WIC Coordinator and the Breastfeeding CoordinatorRequirements:Acts as peer counselor, providing education and support to participants who are engaged in breastfeedingWorks with program management to develop and implement breastfeeding educationProvides direct services to participants in line with WIC program deliverables and expectationsEnters all services provided into WICSIS system in a timely mannerReceives referrals from other WIC program staff and provides outreach for participants who are in need of peer counseling services.QualificationsQualifications:Life experience as a WIC program participant and breastfeeding parentComputer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments at any timeAbility to generate, interpret and analyze data from multiple sourcesEqual Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action:The Institute for Family Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
