Location/Division Specific Information

Thermo Fisher Scientific's Transplant Diagnostics Division (TDX) develops and commercializes several lines of In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) histocompatibility (HLA) tests and services. The preferred candidate would be situated in West Hills or Carlsbad, California with a hybrid work model, primarily based out of our West Hills office location in California. In the event that the candidate is located in Carlsbad, regular travel to the West Hills site will be necessary. Remote consideration in Boston, Texas, and Chicago.

We are seeking a highly motivated and thorough individual to join our team as a Product Manager, HLA Typing, managing our Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) assay portfolio for HLA genotyping. As a Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting the product management team in driving the success of our products through effective planning, execution, and coordination. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of innovative products that ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the Transplant Diagnostics Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

What will you do?

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of product strategies and roadmaps, working closely with the product management team.
  2. Conduct market research and voice of customer (VOC) analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Technical Ops, and Commercial Sales and Field Marketing, to drive product development and launch activities.
  4. Support the gathering and prioritization of product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
  5. Define and measure key product metrics to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Contribute to the creation of product documentation, including user stories, feature specifications, and product release notes.
  7. Support product launch activities, including coordinating with internal team members, preparing marketing collateral, and assisting in go-to-market strategies.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and standard processes in product management.

Keys to Success

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in molecular diagnostics, life sciences, or other healthcare field. Graduate level degree in life sciences or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of in-depth commercial, product management, business development and/or marketing in the healthcare or life sciences industry with a specialization in molecular techniques (NGS, qPCR, Sanger, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong intuition for business and a consistent track record to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated success working in a global, matrixed environment with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proven track record of effectively driving large scale initiatives from a business and cultural standpoint.
  • Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools is desirable.
  • Outside of travel to the office, this role will require up to 25% travel both domestic and internationally.

Compensation And Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $113,500.00-$151,000.00.
