EHS Manager - Recycled Metals (Regional)
Job Overview:
The Regional EHS Manager ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations at scrap yards within the region, adhering to federal, state, local, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote safety and health among all personnel.
- Collaborate with General Managers and Supervisors to manage EHS programs.
- Conduct monthly environmental and safety audits, identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with permits, waste collection schedules, and regulatory requirements.
- Review records for stormwater inspections, waste shipments, and other compliance logs.
- Oversee regulatory visits and manage medical surveillance programs.
- Provide EHS training to employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Conduct new hire safety orientations and maintain proper training documentation.
- Support safety incentive programs and offer on-the-spot guidance for unsafe practices.
- Attend management meetings and ensure timely resolution of EHS issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations, with the ability to interpret and train others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a medical exam, drug test, background, and credit check.
