Outside Plant Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a Telecommunications Professional for the OSP Engineer - II role. This individual will be responsible for engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders, including both distribution and feeder systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with ODN (PON, F2, FIOS, or equivalent) design and implementation utilizing KMZ, AutoCAD, and GIS systems. This role requires a balance of administrative and field support to the outside plant workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Utilize GIS to analyze data and complete necessary spatial designs and connections.
• Perform weekly analysis on GIS data to maintain data integrity.
• Create work orders, approve designs, and trace routes for project continuity.
• Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and property owners to implement solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Three or more years of experience in a similar role.
• Three or more years of GIS experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or science/mathematics fields.
• Knowledge of GIS principles (projection, editing, cartography, geodatabases).
• Familiarity with Esri Arc GIS and 3-GIS Software.
• Understanding of GPON networks.
• Experience with CAD and MS Excel/MS Access.
• Experience with outside plant engineering principles.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
