Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Allergy Immunology Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing direct patient care, complex care coordination, administrative functions, teaching, and research services. The NP will serve as a member of a comprehensive team of health care professionals to deliver high quality, efficient, and complex care coordination for adult patients being evaluated for and receiving allergen immunotherapy, biologic therapy, drug allergy testing, drug desensitization, transplant immunology screening, and immunoglobulin replacement therapy.

Required Qualifications

This position requires flexibility to orient and work at various UCSF Medical Center locations.

NP 1

  • Minimum two (2) years recent experience working as an RN in one of the following settings: Allergy and Immunology, Dermatology, Ambulatory, Critical Care

NP 2

  • NP2 must have six (6) months of NP experience
  • Minimum two (2) years recent experience working as an RN in one of the following settings: Allergy and Immunology, Dermatology, Ambulatory, Critical Care; OR a minimum of six months of recent (within last three years) experience as an NP in Allergy and/or Immunology in an ambulatory setting

Preferred Qualifications

Compassion and interest in allergy and immunology

License/Certification

  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Must hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.
  • Accepted Certifications for this position: (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC). Link to UCSF NP Certification Table for reference:
  • Must hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
  • Must have completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
  • Must hold current national board certification by first day of work and maintain.
  • Must hold an active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
  • Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS and ACLS as minimum requirement.
  • State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
