Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

Educational and experience requirements include: Technical training and/or related experience and a minimum of 5 years plumbing design experience
-
Working knowledge of techniques, equipment, standards and procedures is necessary
-
Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential
Responsibilities
-
Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations and construction documents
-
Perform design functions such as process piping and plumbing layout, sizing and arrangement of process and plumbing installations, and selection and specification of plumbing and process equipment
-
Generate plumbing and process floor plans, schedules, details and P&IDs based on standard design practices and company standards
-
Maintain knowledge base and stay current with design standards, applicable plumbing codes, and new products and concepts
-
Verify that all equipment is arranged and connected per manufacturer requirements as indicated on cut sheets and submittals
-
Prepare standard details and drawings in support of engineering department
-
Assist estimating dept
-
by performing takeoffs of existing drawings or completing partially finished piping layouts or incomplete plumbing designs
-
Visit existing project facilities to establish and document as-built condition of plumbing/process systems
-
Provide technical information to field personnel to insure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes and specifications
-
Attend departmental and design review meetings when required
-
Attend client meetings when required
-
Coordinate and interact with AHJs, City plan reviewers, City inspectors, and Utilities to resolve code compliance issues and documentation
-
Complete work efficiently and correctly in accordance with established schedules
