Summary:
The successful candidate will estimate new construction and repairs for existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform system engineering estimation to support the branch sales team.
- Create cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to assist Sales in bidding or determining the price of a project.
- Utilize plans and specifications to analyze project needs and compile detailed cost estimates.
- Responsible for take-off and pricing of materials to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
- Identify possible cost-saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
- Ability to complete field surveys and assessments for fire sprinkler systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems and new construction and retrofits of multifamily and/or all types of commercial projects.
- Experience with a variety of system types and manufacturers.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office, estimating and take off tools.
- NICET I / II or accumulated experience.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes (NFPA & FFPC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check and drug test.
