CAD Technician Intern
Reports to: Survey Manager (George J. Igel & Co., Inc.)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise dictated; 45-50 hour/week
General Overview: Under direct supervision of the Survey Manager, the CAD Technician Intern develops 3D models, and creates drawings. They will contribute to surveying and modeling various jobs, gain an understanding of the Commercial Construction Industry, and acquire skills that will promote continued academic success. This individual should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.
Responsibilities:

• Develops and recreates 3D surface models in AGETK and AutoCAD Civil 3D for construction purposes;
• Coordinates with the Engineering department to help design earth retention systems;
• Creates as-built drawings, lift plans, and layout drawings as needed for submittals;
• Conducts job site visits as needed;
• General drafting and modeling;
• Produces professional and accurate CAD data and drawings;
• Helps implement means and methods to minimize mistakes and rework in the field;
• Performs technical field engineering and on-site QC testing as needed;
• Knows and adheres to all company policies and procedures;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is required;
• Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year degree program preferred;
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening;
• Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company's eligibility requirements;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Great attention to detail.
