WHAT IS THIS ROLE ABOUT? As our new Senior Software Developer/Engineer, you will join our talented Development team in building Vista Higher Learning’s unique and industry-leading online language education products.

- Languages/Frameworks: Ruby/Rails, JS, Vue
- Persistence: MySQL, Postgres, Redis, ElasticSearch
- Hosting: AWS
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle - from project planning and design to implementation and release.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver development projects on time and with efficiency.

You Must Have (minimum Required Skills & Experience)
- High School Diploma/GED + required work experience.
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience developing large-scale systems.
- Experience building and deploying high-capacity applications in cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
- Experience using source code management systems (i.e. Git/Github, or similar).
- Experience with Ruby/Rails.
IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
- A strong understanding of how to architect solutions for scalability and performance.
- Experience with SQL, Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch and command line *nix environments.
- Experience in ed-tech, education, language-learning or similar industries.
- Mentor level knowledge of modern JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
- Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and best practices for meeting 2.1 AA compliance.
LOCATION
Boston/Remote Hybrid: Ideal candidate will be located within close proximity to our Boston office location and be willing to work a Hybrid schedule. Fully remote candidates may be considered. Relocation assistance is not available. Position requires current residence within the United States of America.
