Job Summary

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Project Management for our Austin, TX office.

Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high quality technical and professional deliverables on complex projects and tasks.
  • Analyze reports and determine solutions to technical problems using independent judgment.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications.
  • Lead and/or participate in team and project meetings.
  • Ensure quality of products and deliverables meet project and client requirements.
  • Perform internal and external audits.
  • Perform quality testing using assigned software programs.
  • Provide onsite solutions during construction, testing, and facility turnover.
  • Deliver high quality technical performance and innovative thinking using current technical knowledge and applications.
  • Utilize computer software tools and applications to solve complex technical problems.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Attend meetings with clients and city and state agencies.
  • Coordinate with a variety of disciplines on project.
  • May approve and sign off on work.
  • Develop work plans for addressing technical issues within project time and budget.
  • Develop solid client relationships.
  • Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary project teams including sub-consultants for various sized projects (small to large).
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 12+ years of experience post education.
  • Essential license, as applicable.
  • Enhancing credentials and certifications.
  • Ability to apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex material and provide resolution in alignment with requirements and business objectives.
  • Experience with using required technical software and applications.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to interact well with others as well as develop and contribute to high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals.
  • Knowledge of national, state and local policies and plans related to vehicle technology deployment.

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Member of and actively participates local professional practice organization including attending meetings/lectures.
  • Participation in conference program with panels, poster sessions, papers and presentations.
  • Post Graduate Education (Graduate Level Courses, Masters, Ph.D.).
  • Proficient in Revit.

Direct reports

May be required to supervise staff below grade P-7.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands

May require occasional travel to client or project sites. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
