Job Overview: A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking an experienced Life Science IP Partner with a proven track record and a portable book of business exceeding $600,000. The ideal candidate will excel in handling diverse life science intellectual property matters, including prosecution, transactional, and litigation issues. This position requires strong business development skills and the ability to leverage existing client relationships to drive the firm's growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of life science IP clients, focusing on achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in life science intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance client relationships and grow the firm’s life science IP practice.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of life science patents and trademarks, and oversee the preparation and filing of patent applications.
  • Represent clients in complex IP litigation cases, including conducting discovery, preparing legal briefs, and appearing in court.
  • Negotiate and draft licensing agreements, joint ventures, and other transactional documents related to life science technologies.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas and attorneys within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
  • Stay updated on the latest life science technology and IP law developments to offer cutting-edge advice and strategies.
  • Mentor and lead junior attorneys and support staff within the life science IP practice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission in Texas.
  • Extensive experience in life science IP law.
  • Demonstrated portable and consistent books of business exceeding $600,000.
  • Proven track record of successful client management and business development.
  • Strong understanding of life science technologies, intellectual property laws, and industry trends.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic counsel to clients.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission in Texas.
