MECHANICAL COST ESTIMATOR
The Concord Group is a construction and development consulting firm specializing in Cost Management, Project Management, Technical Services and Real Estate Advisory Services. We have offices in Chicago, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Columbus, Atlanta and Las Vegas. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire Protection Cost Estimator with 3 – 7 years of cost estimating experience to join our Estimating Team based out of our Chicago office. This is a hybrid (office/ work from home) position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Review drawings, specifications, narratives and supplemental information for completeness and clarity.
· Prepare clear detailed quantity takeoffs for specified scopes of work to assist senior estimating team members.
· Prepare estimate detail using estimating software (ICE)
· Evaluate costs for material, equipment & labor productivity for specific projects & locations.
· Obtain budget pricing from manufacturers and subcontractors.
· Good time management skills
· Ability to work under pressure and multitask to meet strict deadlines.
· Acute attention to detail
· Good verbal, oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of computer skills including all MS Office programs, On-Screen Takeoff, ICE, Assemble
· Ability to implement and train others in the use of estimating software.
· Advanced knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems.
· Thorough understanding of project logistics & schedules.
· Strong knowledge of standard estimating practices.
· Ability to provide an overview of the company as a whole and all services it provides to existing and potential clients.
Qualifications & Experience
· 3-7 years of MEP estimating experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, other construction/engineering related degree or equivalent work experience.
