Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a liaison between PHL, Perspecta, LIMS vendor, LIMS users, and ITS to provide end-user support on LIMS application.
  2. Work closely with laboratory personnel, vendors, and other IT professionals to understand the needs of the laboratory staff and clients, configure and maintain LIMS.
  3. Analyze PHL requirements to translate needs into technical requirements.
  4. Support Perspecta in maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting existing LIMS system (STARLIMS) and interfaces.
  5. Prepare Statement of Work and assist with conducting business and functional requirements analysis for system enhancement or replacement.
  6. Formulate and define the scope of work for major upgrades to LIMS.
  7. Develop, modify, and maintain forms/interfaces for data entry into LIMS.
  8. Create specific Crystal reports, develop or enhance workflows, create new tests, triggers, and write SQL scripts.
  9. Support Perspecta in maintenance of existing instrument interface and work with vendor to develop new instrument interface.
  10. Analyze data trending generated by LIMS for process improvement and quality control.
  11. Identify, implement, and document solutions for problems with the LIMS.
  12. Train others on specific areas of LIMS expertise.
  13. Consult with and advise laboratory management on technology solutions.
  14. Provide a variety of technical support duties pertaining to computer systems and related equipment.
  15. Assist in design and implementation of new LIMS system or version upgrade.
  16. Prepare user documentation for program specific systems.
  17. Work closely with PHL staff, developers, testers, and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

Desired Professional Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience in LIMS application management and laboratory testing.
  2. Preferred languages: SQL, Jscript, .NET, VBScript, SSL, HL7, XML, Python.
  3. Strong knowledge of Crystal Reports.
  4. Proven knowledge in system testing, validation, and problem resolution.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot problems.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field plus two years of work experience in an IT Support Analyst position.
