The Director of Construction Services is responsible for leading NB+C’s Technical Services division. Direct responsibilities include financial management, safety and compliance; operations and personnel management; business development, and strategy. This role requires strong leadership ability, strategic thinking and analytical skills; an eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and report on all aspects of P&L.
  • Oversee purchase order (PO) receives, revenue captures and manage monthly business reviews (MBR) for C-Level managers.
  • Develop and Analyze sales data, create monthly proforma statements, and project backlog projections.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Executive Leadership to communicate accurate financial performance, budgeting, and Monthly/Quarterly/Annual goals.
  • Analyze project and site-specific performance monthly for efficiency of labor, materials, third party and pass-through costs, and redirect as needed.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues with Market Leads monthly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all NB+C and OSHA safety standards.
  • Act as liaison between NB+C Legal, Safety Director, TS employees, and clients.
  • Oversee certification status including compliance, scheduling, and tracking to meet client and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct quarterly site inspections and monthly warehouse inspections and oversee daily vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage accident reporting and support Legal with insurance processing.
  • Manage inventory, procurement and distribution of PPE including hi-vis clothing, vests, hardhats, boots, eyewear, etc.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with Executive VP.
  • Create and manage employee compensation and bonus plans.
  • Oversee job requisition and approval, and conduct interviews for all management-level positions.
  • Review drug and background screenings, manage and create performance write-ups, and conduct regular performance check-ins.

Operations:

  • Monitor material/tool procurement requests and complete credit applications for supply vendors.
  • Manage warehouse inventory levels quarterly with Director of Finance/Controller.
  • Oversee warehouse buildouts and design, repairs, and communication with landlord.
  • Manage cameras, alarms, and equipment.
  • Manage new vendor onboarding process and maintain relationships with existing vendors.
  • Liaise between Legal and Accounting for MSCA, NDA, project and billing setup.

Fleet Management:

  • Manage vehicle safety, tracking, and maintenance alerts using GEOTAB and Enterprise Fleet Management.
  • Manage active and inactive vehicle data documentation, fleet projection needs, procurement, and relationships with Enterprise Fleet representatives.
  • Manage citations, WEX Cards, quarterly account planning, and registration/license plate monitoring.
  • Assure all vehicle lettering, safety stickers, and required safety equipment is compliant with NB+C policies.

Business Development:

  • Create and manage sales and scope strategy for Technical Services.
  • Drive and support new and current client relationships, sales presentations, and public relations activities.
  • Report business development opportunities to NB+C President, including weekly BD notes and review summaries.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for annual Professional Development events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in telecommunications industry.
  • Proven track record of success on multiple telecommunications projects and multiple client settings.
  • Practical knowledge of all telecommunications site development disciplines, including site acquisition, land use, construction management, RF, environmental, engineering, and general contracting services.
  • Professional and applicable understanding of project management principles.
  • Professional and applicable knowledge of financial reporting of project results.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, achieving excellent cross-discipline and outside vendor results.
  • Proven ability to responsibly delegate project assignments.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple assignments, including multiple separate project teams or separate client offices.
  • Exceptional sales, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong follow-through skills.
