With over 200 employees we strive to provide high-quality and innovative health care services to the Finger Lakes Region.Job Summary:The School Based Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the face of Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH), greeting students as a liaison of the organization. The School Based PSR serves as a resource and guide for patients (students) at the school, assisting them with documentation, scheduling their visits, directing them to the right resources, and assisting them to, during, and from their appointments. This position works closely with both the patient and providers to appropriately provide.Duties/Responsibilities:Ensures patient documentation is current, complete, and accurateObtains schedule for each school day from FLCH electronic health record system (EHR)Consult with the attendance office at the school to determine any absencesServes as an escort for students to and from the classroom to the telehealth roomSupport the student by connecting them virtually with an FLCH TherapistEnsure a secure connection is made, the therapist is visible and audio is workingDuring services, coordinate between the school and FLCH on needsAssists students, parents, and teachers with appropriate documentation and requirements.Follow up with therapist on needs throughout day; parent needs, teacher needs, and student needsProvides review and scanning of insurance information in the EHRMaintains and creates records of patients (students) in FLCH EHRScans appropriate documentation into the patient (student's) chart (school packet, enrollment, releases, referral from PCP)Coordinate individual billing needs with FLCH and the Therapist.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisorRequired Skills/Abilities:Possesses organizational skillsAbility to follow established policies and proceduresAbility to work flexible schedulesMaintains confidentiality of patients and coworkersEducation and Experience:High School or Equivalency DiplomaPrior experience working with children or school environment a plusPrior customer experience is highly desirableValid NYS driver's license and NYS driving record that complies with FLCH policy.Physical Requirements:Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff on the telephone and those who are served “in person.”Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.Must have vision that is adequate to read memo’s computer screen, registration forms, and other documents.Must possess manual dexterity, to perform writing and keyboarding tasks.Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.Must be cleared by both the school district and FLCH including background checks, finger prints and all other required clearancesAbility to squat, bend, kneelFinger Lakes Community Health uses BambooHR for the hiring and onboarding of our staff.
