Arcadis is seeking a Senior Construction Program Director to lead major building relocation programs for leading Oil & Gas clients in North America. This position is based out of Chicago, IL.

Role description:

As a Senior Program Director , you will ensure projects adhere to client requirements and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines. Your responsibilities will span all project phases: planning, design/preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, demolition and decommissioning of abandoned assets, and handover to client.

Role accountabilities:

  • Providing leadership to on-site construction managers overseeing daily construction work and handover activities.
  • Leading tendering processes, including development of RFPs, bid review and clarification, and development and execution of design, procurment, and construction contracts.
  • Leading the development of programs through FEL/FEED to ensure development of the program and commercial business case; and continue leading through option selection, engineering, procurement, and construction within the client's project development framework.
  • Ensuring contractors schedule, conduct, and document all construction meetings including construction progress meetings, safety meetings, and inspections including distributing minutes of the meetings.
  • Reviewing submittals for conformance with contract documents.
  • Coordinating RFIs as required.
  • Coordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors.
  • Managing work to follow regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Validating all (interim) payment requests from the General Contractor and all owner subcontractors.
  • Reviewing contractors’ site-specific health and safety plan and verifying all safety programs align to and are consistent with Arcadis and the owner’s health and safety requirements.
  • Monitoring contractor adherence to safety standards and approved plans.
  • Maintaining accurate project files, meetings records and correspondence.
  • Verifying contractors provide all applicable certificates of insurance prior to any work being performed.
  • Providing weekly and monthly client reporting packages to senior and executive leaders within the client and Arcadis organizations.
  • Supporting the client in coordinating all required operational training.
  • Supporting the client in the contract close-out procedures including organizing the receipt of as-built documents, warranties, guarantees, O&M manuals, and training material from the contractors

Key Skills:

  • Have extensive experience working in refinery and/or petrochemical facilities, including health and safety practices.
  • Have vertical building experience, including commercial office, laboratory, and industrial-use facilities.
  • Be proficient in construction PMIS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, P6.
  • Have strong program management and client relationship management skills.
  • Be self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible; have the initiative to tackle new challenges daily.
  • Be health, safety, and quality focused.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 years of senior project/program management experience in the construction or heavy civil industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex construction projects over $200M+

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional accreditation (PE, AIA, CCM, CPC, PMP, LEED).

The salary range for this position is $124,700 - $187,050.
