What You Will Be Doing:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data. This position will manage the Accounts Receivables, oversee General Ledger accounts, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will handle tax and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Be Doing:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data. This position will manage the Accounts Receivables, oversee General Ledger accounts, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will handle tax and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Look Like:
- Customer Assistance - Responding to customer inquiries, issues, and complaints through various channels such as phone, email, text, or in-person interaction.
- Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries and ensure the accuracy of General Ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank and company credit card statements.
- Fixed asset and depreciation schedule maintenance
- Assist with other month-end close processes.
- Assist with internal or external monthly/quarterly reporting needs.
- Calculate Sales Commissions
- Prepare tax filings - Sales Tax Returns, Personal Property, and other filings as needed.
- Maintain Business Licenses and Secretary of State compliance.
- Process 1099s at year end.
- Assist with Financial and Bank audits.
- Manage and reconcile Accounts Receivables.
- Create new customer accounts and maintain existing accounts, requesting Credit Apps and Exemption certificates and performing credit checks.
- Maintain AR aging report by sending timely and consistent collection payment requests and past-due notices on customer accounts.
- Put accounts on credit hold as needed and adequately communicate any credit holds with the sales and aftersales departments.
- Application of cash receipts to accounts receivable.
- Equipment and Rental Billing
- Support and backup to Accounts Payables.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team or with other departments.
- Perform additional accounting and tax-related assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Between 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products -Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Accounting systems - experience with Acumatica is a bonus.
- Experience with Sales Tax, Income Tax, and Business compliance is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, and use of hands.
- This job mostly involves sitting or standing, but there may be occasional tasks that involve lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
