Under the general direction of the General Counsel, the Staff Attorney performs a range of legal work on matters related to the functions and operations of the Commission in connection with permitting, planning, enforcement, and administration of the McAteer-Petris Act, the Suisun Marsh Preservation Act, the Commission’s regulations, and other State and federal laws and regulations and other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

- Ability to perform complex and sensitive legal work; draft legal opinions; analyze proposed legislation and regulations; negotiate effectively; present legal opinions and recommendations clearly and logically, in both verbal and written form; function reliably and independently; exercise discretion; and complete the work required within strict time requirements, or on an expedited basis.
