Functional Group: Library Programs/Records Management

Agile Decision Sciences, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Records Management Specialist to support our nationwide contract to provide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with library and records management services.

Responsibilities:

  • Indexing and cataloging records.
  • Utilizing a records management system (database) for search, retrieval, and data entry, applying records retention schedules to files for retention, archiving, and dispositioning.
  • Preparing and reviewing standard operating procedures, training materials, and file plans.
  • Responding to customer inquiries, participating in records organization projects, providing basic records training, and assisting with records imaging.
  • Preparing and shipping large batches of records to off-site storage, maintaining daily activity statistics, and producing monthly activity reports.
  • Serving as the primary point-of-contact for the user base of a Records Center, including government employees, members of the public, government contractors, regulated communities, students and educators, and members of the media.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (will consider Associate degree) and three (3) years of records management or library experience, including filing paper and electronic records, entering data into records management systems, preparing records for disposition or retiring, and usage of records retention schedules. Experience with at least one automated information system is required.
  • BA/BS strongly preferred.
  • Customer service skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with modern Project Management methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and on teams, to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects, to quickly adapt to change, and to meet deadlines.
  • Physical requirements include full range of arm motion, including lifting above the head, ability to bend, stoop, and kneel, ability to routinely lift and carry 40 lbs. in weight, to push or pull 200 lbs. on carts, to push or pull 1200 lbs. via pallet jack, and ability to use step ladders to reach materials on upper shelves. Candidate should also be comfortable sitting at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
