Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) is hiring! We are seeking a Staff Accountan t to join our Accounting and Finance team.

The considered candidate will be required to reside in the Austin-metro area or be able to reliably commute to the office within a reasonable amount of time.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Associate's degree in Accounting/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred
- Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in office administration and accounting
- Proven experience in office administration, procurement or relevant role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
The Staff Accountant's primary responsibility is to assist with basic bookkeeping, accounting, and administrative tasks. This includes handling purchasing activities and providing assistance to the Finance, Human Resources, and IT security departments (approximately 85%/10%/5%, respectively). This position collaborates with employees and vendors and maintains appropriate company records related to responsibilities.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card reconciliations. Ensure appropriate manager approval in accordance with corporate purchasing and reimbursement policies. Ensure transactions are recorded in Intacct Accounting software and allocated to correct general ledger account.
- Coordinate purchases with IT department for renewals and software subscriptions.
- Prepare invoices; process incoming checks; prepare bank deposits.
- Maintain prepaid expenses and fixed assets in Intacct Accounting Software; prepare reconciliations at month-end.
- Prepare monthly recurring journal entries.
- File documentation in Intacct and SharePoint.
- Maintain written accounting processes, procedures, and checklists.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, input budget amounts and first quarter adjustments into Intacct Accounting Software and Sage Intacct Budget and Planning software.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
- Assist with annual financial audit.
- Train employees on accounting software use and help troubleshoot issues.
- Assist Human Resources Director with coordination of phone and virtual interviews. Update all tracking necessary for follow up in the hiring processes, including team calendar details.
- Assist with new hire process such as setting up workspace, cubicle name tags, updating seating charts and extension phone list.
- Maintain office supply inventory and re-order when needed.
- Maintain breakroom inventory and re-order when needed.
- Distribute mail.
- Serve as building liaison, as needed.
- Assist CFO, Accounting Manager, Human Resources Director, and IT Director on special projects, as assigned.

Employees work a hybrid work schedule consisting of at least two days in the office with the option of working three days remotely. Additional in-office work may be required depending on audit and project scopes. Additionally, employees have the option to take advantage of Flexible Friday, where employees may shift working hours to earlier in the week instead of on Friday after noon.
Texas RE pays 100% of employee-only coverage for medical, dental, vision, life and ADD, short-term and long-term disability, and long-term care insurance, as well as the employee assistance program. Texas RE provides a generous 401(k) or Roth 401(k) savings plan for employees, contributing 10% of an employee's compensation towards the retirement plan with full vesting after three (3) years. Additionally, Texas RE will match 75%, up to 6%, of employee contributions, with vesting at 20% per year and full vesting at five (5) years of employment.
