WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Director of Sales is responsible for increasing SSC revenue, helping Account Managers develop new client relationships through Sustainability Consulting, as well as maintaining existing client relationships. To do that, hands-on knowledge of our sustainability consulting services is a must. Project examples for SSC include sustainable operations assessment, decarbonization master plans and roadmaps, carbon footprint benchmarking (Scope 1, 2 and 3), and life cycle assessments. The Director of Sales will be responsible for training and mentoring the sales team members. The Director will work closely with the Revenue Team, which includes marketing and sales, as well as with the Operations and Executive Leadership teams.

What you are accountable for:

  • Report on sales strategy and pipeline to President (Tad Radzinski) and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Oversee sales team members' direction and functions, as well as develop the sales accountability and measurement process to achieve sales team goals.
  • Effectively manage team members with diverse work styles, sales experience, and backgrounds.
  • Manage, support, coach, motivate, and improve efficiency to cultivate the development and growth of the sales team members.
  • Develop sales strategy, pipeline management and utilization of internal project accounting system, and CRM.
  • Hold sales team accountable for meeting or exceeding weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for pipeline development and new sales.
  • Hire, develop, and manage an experienced sales team to create and drive business into new accounts.
  • Meet/exceed pipeline generation and revenue targets set for the team.
  • Review and approve pricing and proposals once reviewed by the operations team.
  • Conduct accurate sales forecast and pipeline management.
  • Develop and implement yearly and quarterly sales plans and programs and prepare for quarterly Revenue Team Strategy meetings.
  • Maximize account penetration to ensure closure of sales cycles.
  • Partner with and develop close working relationships with key partners and stakeholders to bring new client opportunities to the sales team.
  • Establish new representative pricing within company policy.
  • Facilitate cross-sales revenue development.
  • Ensure quality control and accuracy of data in company project accounting and CRM system.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of successful sales team management experience including training and development of high performing sales teams.
  • Engineering consulting or technical sales experience required.
  • Experience with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and leading a sales team using EOS principles is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate an effective managing style and discipline including team building and a coaching and accountability sales mentality.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with a competitive mindset to overcome objections and achieve goals.
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite (specifically Excel) and CRM platforms is preferred.
  • Team player with negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills: writing, editing, and presenting.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned business and activity goals.
  • Experience in sales leadership for sustainability or environmental experience is preferred.

Where you will be located:

  • This is a remote position with occasional work travel and on-site collaborative meetings as needed.

What you will be paid:

  • The compensation band for this role starts at $120k/year base salary. Your salary can fluctuate based on experience.
  • There is potential for a metrics-based bonus.
